Reading Guides

Reading guides are derived from the assigned readings from the textbook ( Soil Survey Division Staff. 1993. Soil survey manual. Soil Conservation Service. U.S. Department of Agriculture Handbook 18). The purpose of the reading guides is to help you recognize and bring together the key concepts contained in the assigned readings. Also, the reading guides will help you be a more effective reader, help you understand the more difficult material, and help you participate fully in classroom discussions. (If you have trouble answering any of the reading guide questions after completing the reading assignment, then these would be excellent questions to ask during class.) The reading guides are provided for your benefit—they will not be collected or graded.
